Recommendation: Jonathan Cahn

Have you read Jonathan Cahn’s books “The Harbinger” and “The Mystery of the Shemitah”?  If not, get to it!  They are both well worth the time it takes to read them. Also, the DVD “Isaiah 9:10 Judgment” is superb!  Cahn is a Messianic rabbi who seeks to share the Truth of what the Lord has shown him. He has many interesting things to say. For instance, we are currently in a shemitah year, which will end on September 13, 2015.  There’s a great chance that another economic collapse will happen near this date. If you haven’t heard Rabbi Cahn speak, watch the following video. He’s excellent!

This is almost a “classic” now, as things move so quickly in our world.  Cahn’s talk at the Inaugural Prayer Breakfast.

Autumn in Montana

What a difference a day makes!  Wednesday we woke to several inches of snow and had continued snow and cold throughout the day.  We ended up with 8 inches.  For Thanksgiving Day on Thursday we saw high temperatures of 60 degrees!  Yes, all the snow melted.  Love the beautiful seasons that God has created.  Here are just a few favorite sights of our area during the fall…

Giving Thanks to Whom?

When I hear unbelievers say “Happy Thanksgiving” or discuss this holiday, I want to ask them, “So who exactly are you thanking?”

Halleluyah! Give thanks to Adonai; for he is good, for his grace continues forever. Who can express Adonai’s mighty doings or proclaim in full his praise?   ~~   Psalms 106:1-2

THANKS be to YHWH for His mercy and grace! Toda El Shaddai! We are humbly overwhelmed with gratitude for the Father’s instruction and the removal of the blinders on our eyes, ears, hearts and spirit. We could have never fathomed the change He has wrought by showing us the truth of the Hebrew roots of our faith, that the Torah is still valid, that the Feasts of the Lord are His holy days, that it dishonors Him to celebrate man’s holidays that put a pseudo-Christian theme on pagan rituals. We are undeserving of His Truth, but He graciously provides anyway. Thanksgiving to YHWH forever!

What Nonsense!

Holy means “set apart” not righteous, as many people assume. The people of God, the Children of Israel, are meant to be a peculiar people, a set apart (holy) nation. So many people today want to conform; they want to be just like everyone else. That is not the way with God’s children. If we look, sound, and seem different than the rest of the world, that is appropriate. We don’t follow the designs of the world, and should seem very strange to them, since the ways of YHWH are foolishness (nonsense) to the “wise” – those who think they are wise.

Indeed, the Tanakh says, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and frustrate the intelligence of the intelligent.” Where does that leave the philosopher, the Torah-teacher, or any of today’s thinkers? Hasn’t God made this world’s wisdom look pretty foolish? For God’s wisdom ordained that the world, using its own wisdom, would not come to know him. Therefore God decided to use the “nonsense” of what we proclaim as his means of saving those who come to trust in it. Precisely because Jews ask for signs and Greeks try to find wisdom, we go on proclaiming a Messiah executed on a stake as a criminal! To Jews this is an obstacle, and to Greeks it is nonsense; but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, this same Messiah is God’s power and God’s wisdom! For God’s “nonsense” is wiser than humanity’s “wisdom.”     ~~   I Corinthians 1:19-25

Now the natural man does not receive the things from the Spirit of God – to him they are nonsense! Moreover, he is unable to grasp them, because they are evaluated through the Spirit.   ~~   I Corinthians 2: 14

Let no one fool himself. If someone among you thinks he is wise (by this world’s standards), let him become “foolish,” so that he may become really wise. For the wisdom of this world is nonsense, as far as God is concerned; inasmuch as the Tanakh says “He traps the wise in their own cleverness,” and again, “Adonai knows that the thoughts of the wise are worthless.”       ~~ I Corinthians 3: 18-20

Seeking Homestead Family

Calling all Messianic believers, both Jew and Gentile! If you believe that the whole Bible is true and directly relevant today, that salvation is by grace through faith in the Messiah Yeshua (commonly called Jesus in English), and that obedience to the Torah and commands of YHWH (God) are demonstrations (fruits) of our salvation, then we are talking to you.

While we strongly believe these could be the last days, we know that YHWH’s timing and will is perfect. In the eyes of the world, this may seem to be much too late. We’ve even said ourselves: “If you aren’t where you want to be, you won’t be able to get there before the stuff hits the proverbial fan.” Time seems to be very short. However, we still feel moved by His Spirit to seek others of like faith to form a psuedo-kibbutz of sorts, a familial homestead. We seek a spiritual family agreeable to working cooperatively.

Individuals, couples or families interested in joining together to live simply, off-grid, self-sustainably, and most importantly, obediently to the whole Word of God, please pray about this. If YHWH moves your spirit, please contact us at  Shalom!
