Over the weekend, a friend said he had recently read this startling fact: that America now lives under less freedom and liberty than the colonists did under English authority before the revolution! There wasn’t much to celebrate on Independence Day, it would seem.
In looking at dates in history compared to current news, a disturbing pattern emerges. The US Supreme Court announced their ruling on same-sex marriage on Friday June 26. On the same day, the Vatican formally recognized the “Palestinian State” by signing a treaty with them. On the Hebrew calendar both events took place on the 9th of Tammuz. This is the day in history (423 BC) that the walls of Jerusalem were breached by the Babylonians resulting in the destruction of the first Jewish Temple.
Saturday, July 4th in our current year, 2015, fell on the Biblical calendar date of the 17th of Tammuz. This is the day in history (70 AD) that the Romans breached the walls of Jerusalem resulting in the destruction of the second Jewish Temple. It is also recognized as the day that Moses broke the tablets in response to the golden calf. The day known as America’s founding, July 4, 1776, also fell on Tammuz 17 on the Hebrew calendar.
Both times of “breaching” led to the total destruction of Jerusalem and the Holy Temple a few weeks later. The destruction of the temples both occurred on the same Hebrew date of the 9th of Av, but almost 5 centuries apart! The 9th of Av throughout history has been a very somber day for the Jewish people. Many types of destruction have befallen them on this particular day. This year (2015) it falls on July 25th. What will occur, if anything, this year? Only our Elohim knows.
Jonathan Cahn has warned of the Isaiah 9:10 judgements playing out upon our nation. Could the events occurring now be the breaching of America’s walls, and indicate soon destruction upon this nation as it did the ancient Israelites? The US has had many warnings, but little repentance has resulted. If America’s walls have indeed been breached, allowed by the Sovereign Adonai, then destruction cannot be far behind. YHWH is gracious, loving and merciful, but He is also just and righteous. He is long-suffering but He will not endure rebellion forever. He will not be mocked.
Even if America’s destruction is inevitable, individuals can find safety in our Messiah Yeshua. Judgement begins in the house of God, with His people. So, let’s all be vigilant to examine ourselves, remove those things that are not of YHWH, and include in our life all things that please Him. May He find us watching, full of faith and obedient to the end, when Yeshua comes.
