We’ve been in a rainy spell the last week and the forecast is for more of the same. Thankfully, it has not been a deluge like the flooding in Texas and elsewhere. Nourishing moisture has come to this area, making the forest damp. Mountains are getting their first taste of snow for the season. What a blessing after the dry spring and summer!
Considering these rains, I cannot help but look to Adonai who sends them.
As high as the sky is above the earth are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For just as rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return there, but water the earth, causing it to bud and produce, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so is my word that goes out from my mouth — it will not return to me unfulfilled; but it will accomplish what I intend, ~~ Isaiah 55:9-11
God thunders wonderfully with his voice, he does great things beyond our understanding. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth!’ — likewise to the light rain, also to the downpour. He brings all human activity to a stop, so that everyone he has made can know it.~~ Job 37: 5-7
So, brothers, be patient until the Lord returns. See how the farmer waits for the precious “fruit of the earth” — he is patient over it until it receives the fall and spring rains. You too, be patient; keep up your courage; for the Lord’s return is near. ~~ James 5:7-8
