Reconsidering the Armor of God

The majority of teachings on the armor of God from Ephesians 6 illustrate this concept with the garb of a Roman soldier.  We’ve even heard that there is no protection over your back side because “in God there’s no retreating”.  However, this is an idea born out of Western thinking, not Hebraic.  What if the armor of God was really referring to priestly garments, such as those the Levites wore in performing their Temple service?  Would that possibility shock you?  It behooves us to reconsider our preconceived notions and test them to what the Bible actually says.  Pastor Mark Biltz has a good teaching on this.  As always, he makes a superb case that knowing the Hebrew words, rather than the English, can make all the difference in correctly understanding Biblical truths.
